SR Kannabiran
Sri Rama Match Works was started as an idea by our Visionary Founder SR Kannabiran in 1963 at Sivakasi, India, when he was looking to diversify beyond his traditional trading businesses.
From humble beginnings, we were able to establish hand-made manufacturing units across Virudhunagar District, in 5 locations. The identification of the location themselves, have been instrumental in the continued success of our production story, as the same was meticulously done, considering the two major success factors for any manufacturing industry:

K Ramraj
It is our current Leader K Ramraj (Managing Partner of our group of companies) who is credited with executing that idea as a business, and converting it into a thriving manufacturing concern that has overcome various challenging market conditions and continues to evolve as a contemporary business model even after 60years. A science graduate by education, he has travelled the length and breadth of the country and has a thorough knowledge about the pulse of the industry. It is the result of his continuous updation and understanding of market dynamics that have we been able to weather through such a long journey in the unpredictable and every changing market conditions. His insatiable hunger for business excellence has helped us evolve, expand and remain a major force to reckon with.
Third Generation
The third generation of our company Mathavan KR & Yogesh KR have been the latest additions to our management team, and are to be credited with the changes to take our products global.
With ever-changing market dynamics, and need for high volumes of production capacity building, mechanisation was inevitable in the Safety Matches Industry. We were one of the early movers into mechanised splints production, and started the same with imported machinery as early as 2010.
With increase in splints availability, it was natural to mechanise and automate the remaining lines of the manufacturing process i.e Box Filling & Packing. The below 2 group companies were exclusively established for engaging in the filling and packing process of production, with state of the art indigenous machinery, which makes it cost effective and viable
